Ravi Chandran, Ph.D.

Ravi is responsible for the intellectual property that forms the basis for TRI’s proprietary technology. He has over 30 years of experience in technology development for efficient energy conversion and reduced environmental impact. He has worked in the areas of steam reforming, pulsed combustion, pulsed gasification, fluid bed processes including combustion, power generation, fuel cells, and waste treatment and drying. He leads process design, scale-up, process simulation and optimization, modeling, test plan development, sampling and analysis and data reduction.

He holds 36 US patents with 4 patent applications in process and 99 International patents with 11 patent applications in process. Prior to joining TRI, he was Vice President of Engineering at MTCI and a Research Specialist at Babcock & Wilcox where he coordinated the fluidized bed combustion fuels characterization program. Dr. Chandran earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University. He is a recipient of the ASME Melville medal. He is a member of ASME and AIChE.
