RELEASE: TRI Gets Full Notice to Proceed on Contract to Support 11 Million Gallon Per Year Renewable Waste-to-Fuels Facility near Reno, Nevada https://tri-inc.net/2017/11/08/notice-to-proceed/ Wed, 08 Nov 2017 19:13:19 +0000 http://54.174.83.94/?p=2031 TRI Gets Full Notice to Proceed on Contract to Support 11 Million Gallon Per Year Renewable Waste-to-Fuels Facility near Reno, Nevada

500 ton per day, state-of the-art Fulcrum BioEnergy facility uses TRI technologies and equipment to cleanly convert garbage to renewable jet fuels for major global airlines

Tahoe-Reno Industrial Park, Nevada   November 7, 2017 — ThermoChem Recovery International (TRI), a leading renewable fuels technology company headquartered in Baltimore, MD, today announced that it had recently been given its Full Notice to Proceed by client Fulcrum BioEnergy to supply Fulcrum’s “Project Sierra” with TRI’s proprietary gasification technologies and specialized biorefinery equipment.

“This is a great milestone for TRI, and for our longtime client Fulcrum,” said TRI President & CEO, Dan Burciaga.  “Our equipment is being fabricated now, and we are working with Fulcrum and their engineers to make this first-of-a-kind facility a total success for all participants.”

In addition to its gasification-related technology and equipment, TRI is supplying Project Sierra with its proprietary feeder system and a range of engineering services.  TRI’s systems can be used to feed and convert Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) feedstock, as in Project Sierra, and can be used with a wide range of other biorefinery feedstocks as well, such as woody biomass, agricultural residues, construction and demolition debris, waste plastics, or a mixture of all these.

TRI, which was founded in 1996, is committed to providing its clients with superior and sustainable clean energy technologies and equipment for a greener and more prosperous planet.

TRI announces partnership with Velocys PLC https://tri-inc.net/2017/01/26/tri-announces-partnership-with-velocys-plc/ Thu, 26 Jan 2017 22:29:31 +0000 http://54.174.83.94/?p=1965 TRI is pleased to announce a non-exclusive partnership with Velocys plc in support of their commercial integrated biorefinery program. As part of being their preferred gasification technology provider, TRI will integrate Velocys’ Fischer-Tropsch (F-T) technology with our gasification technology, both of which have been previously demonstrated. This joint Biomass to Liquids (BTL) demonstration has been selected by the US Department of Energy for the development of smaller scale integrated biorefineries. https://www.velocys.com/press/nr/nr170126.php

TRI successful in acquiring sponsorship from DOE for Phase 1 pilot plant improvements https://tri-inc.net/2017/01/05/tri-successful-in-acquiring-sponsorship-from-doe-for-phase-1-pilot-plant-improvements/ Thu, 05 Jan 2017 22:28:48 +0000 http://54.174.83.94/?p=1963 TRI was successful in acquiring sponsorship from the DOE for Phase 1 pilot plant improvements, including the development of 2nd generation pulse combustor technology. These advancements will lead to more cost-effective integrated biorefineries (IBR) with increased liquid fuel yields, enabling smaller scale IBRs utilizing distributed biomass resources like wood and agricultural residuals.

The operational data and process validations from its pilot facility will play a key role in mitigating scale-up issues at Sierra Biofuels.”

November 29, 2016 https://tri-inc.net/2016/11/29/november-29-2016/ Tue, 29 Nov 2016 22:25:22 +0000 http://54.174.83.94/?p=1958 We are happy to share a concise graphic developed by BP and Fulcrum that cuts to the heart of their, and TRI’s, important collaborative activities.  Using waste materials that would otherwise be sent to landfills, we are collectively producing and supplying high-performance renewable jet fuel to the market, and thereby displacing petroleum fuels on a gallon-for-gallon basis. We are proud to be working with Fulcrum on these efforts.  Jet fuels from waste are here now, and will be a big part of the global renewable economy for years to come.

Turning one person’s trash into another person’s treasure! https://tri-inc.net/2016/10/30/turning-one-persons-trash-into-another-persons-treasure/ Sun, 30 Oct 2016 00:00:54 +0000 http://54.174.83.94/?p=1952 Our team is hard at work turning one person’s trash into another person’s treasure! At the TRI Advanced Development Center (ADC) in Durham, North Carolina, our process development specialists are currently commissioning our newest addition to the ADC – a small scale pilot reactor that enables us to better isolate and evaluate the steam reforming capabilities of different types of carbonaceous materials. This unit supplements our much larger 4 dry-ton-per day fully-integrated process demonstration unit (PDU). Explore more of what TRI has to offer at www.tri-inc.net. Fill your tank, not the landfill!
