by Dave Newport, VP of Project Management at TRI, Inc.
This paper, presented by Dave Newport at the 2010 International Chemical Recovery Conference in Williamsburg VA, describes strategies for integrating a thermochemical platform biorefinery into an existing pulp and paper host site with minimum operating risk. It also describes TRI’s thermochemical biorefinery process demonstration unit located at Durham NC and reports on its operating status and results.
TRI (ThermoChem Recovery International) has been commercializing the thermochemical biorefinery platform in the Pulp and paper industry for over four years. The first part of this presentation will be to review the integration of the thermochemical biorefinery platform strategy in a pulp and paper mill and provide an update of two pulp and paper biorefineries currently in engineering design.
